Creating a Resilient, Climate Ready Garden

A garden is ever evolving. Our volunteers are always working to maintain the beauty, sustainability, and educational value of our garden areas. We are all very aware of our changing climate, and we work to identify and incorporate plants that will thrive under changing conditions.
As you walk through the gardens, you will notice that we periodically make changes to the design and plants on display. We test out new plants so that we can offer information that may help the public in their own home garden. We are all experiencing the same challenges and share a desire to create a healthy, resilient garden in the face of a changing climate.
All the work that we do in the garden depends on community financial support. Your generosity will help us continue to trial new plants, demonstrate best practices for adapting to our changing climate, and create educational labels and signage to help share this information with the public.
We are so grateful that you are part of our Central Park Gardens family. The gardens of Central Park that you walk through, the gardens that give you peace and calm, have been there for you to enjoy thanks to the dedication of our many volunteers and financial supporters.
